Delete your StillThere account

Both the App Store and Google Play require that an account created inside the app can be deleted from inside the app. This page documents that flow so you know exactly what happens before you confirm.

Quick path: open the StillThere app and go to Profile → Delete account. The same screen is available on the web at Settings → Delete account.

What gets deleted

When you confirm the deletion, the app calls a server-side Cloud Function (deleteAccount) that runs the safe-deletion policy below. Your account and the data tied to it are removed permanently — there is no "undo" and no archive export offered at this point (request an export first if you need one).

Always deleted

Family archives where you are the sole member

When you are the only member of an archive, that archive and everything in it is permanently deleted:

Family archives where other members remain

When the archive has other members, you are simply removed from it. The archive, its memories, and its media stay for the remaining members. Your contributions remain attributed to the display name you used at the time, unless the archive administrators remove them.

When you are blocked from deleting

If you are the only administrator of an archive that still has other members, the app will refuse the deletion and ask you to either:

Once at least one other administrator exists, you can complete the deletion.

How to delete your account

  1. Open StillThere and sign in. If you can't sign in, see Support for password reset and Google re-auth options.
  2. Go to Profile. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
  3. Review the impact summary. It tells you which archives will be erased, which you will leave, and which (if any) are blocking deletion.
  4. Reauthenticate. Firebase requires a recent login before account deletion — enter your password for an email account, or sign in with Google again for a Google account.
  5. Type DELETE in the confirmation field and tap Delete my account.
  6. The app signs you out and returns to the welcome screen. Your account is removed within a few seconds; backups and audit-log entries are cleared on the standard 90-day retention schedule.

Deleting without the app

If you have lost access to your account (forgot password, lost your device, and can't complete Google reauth), email support@stillthere.tunnxo.com from the address on the account. We will:

What we keep

We delete the data described above. The only exceptions are records we are required to retain by law (for example, tax-relevant billing records, or content removed under a valid legal request) and aggregated, non-identifiable analytics (for example, "5,000 deletions were requested in July"). See our Privacy Policy for the full data lifecycle.

Deleting vs. uninstalling

Uninstalling the app removes the local cache and stops notifications, but it does not delete your account. Use the flow above to actually delete your data.
